Waterproof Fabric

Are you trying to understand the difference between water-resistant and waterproof fabric, or would like to purchase some? Welcome to the Fabrics Galorewebsite. Owned by Paul Johnston for the past 25 years, we are a dedicated business which spends a lot of time sourcing the highest quality fabrics. The original store was incorporated in 1992 and is situated on Lavender Hill, Battersea - with the online store being established back in 2016. If you require any more information regarding our gorgeous fabrics, you are more than welcome to contact our team.

There is a big difference between water-resistant and waterproof fabric, which consumers often confuse. As an example, if a fabric is water-resistant or water repellent, this means that the fabric itself is acting as a barrier between the wearer and water. The water can’t easily penetrate the material, but it would eventually start to seep in through the coating, the fabric and onto your skin. On the other hand, waterproof fabric is where the structure of the fabric, and usually a combination of layers, prevents the water from reaching your skin.

Here atFabrics Galore, we completely understand how choosing the right fabric is the most important aspect of creating a garment. Across our website, we have such a wide range of choices and you still need to take into consideration the style, fit, design, silhouette and structure you want to achieve with your design. To understand the many fabric ranges we have available, please feel free to contact a member of our staff - someone would be more than happy to help.

As we have already mentioned, Paul has been running the store for over two decades and has established a fun and inspirational environment for his customers. He attention is mostly focused on ensuring every customer he works with is 100% happy, as he travels far and wide in search of the very best fabrics. You can also have a browse through our extensive range, both in the shop and our exhibits at many of the big quilting andfabric shows nationally.
