A Huge Thank You, a Big Ask and Click & Collect News!

Posted by Fabrics Galore on

The Fabrics Galore team would like to say a HUGE thank you to all our customers for their support for our online business during these unprecedented times and also announce our newest Click and Collect delivery service.

When we closed our shop on Lavender Hill on March 20th we were incredibly sad to lose that daily interaction with our local customers and we are still missing all the familiar faces and the new customers discovering our fabric shop for the first time.

But we could not have imagined just how much support there would be for our online store. Whether you are sewing face masks and scrubs for NHS and keyworkers or simply using crafting as a way of easing stress during lockdown, you have continued to order fabric on a daily basis and as always, we are immensely grateful for each and every order.

However, alongside the huge thank you, please could we also ask you for patience when you are waiting for your orders to arrive?

With a reduced team working on alternate days so that we can observe social distancing, we are working every day to cut, package and mail your orders to you in good time. In normal circumstances orders are either posted the same day or the next day via Royal Mail and often arrive a day later. However, these are not normal circumstances and orders are taking longer to arrive. While this is frustrating, please could we request a little more time to fulfil your order before you pick up the phone or email to ask where it is?

Royal Mail reduced service

According to Royal Mail'ss Covid-19 update, they are experiencing increased levels of employee absence due to illness and self-isolation and report disruption to services. They say that despite their best endeavours, some areas of the country will experience reduced service levels at some points due to Coronavirus-related absences. They are prioritising NHS and keyworker deliveries, which is as it should be.

In our experience, Royal Mail are taking anywhere between 5-10 working days to deliver our fabric parcels and are not providing their usual tracking service.

Please could we kindly ask that you don’t chase your delivery until 10 days have elapsed from your order? That will allow us to continue focusing on cutting, packing and posting your orders as quickly as we can.

Store Pick-Up or Click and Collect

To help our more local customers, we are now able to offer a free Click and Collect delivery service to pick up your orders from our shop on Lavender Hill.  At checkout please select the Pick Up Delivery method and you will be notified as soon as your order is ready, usually within 2 days.

Fabrics Galore Click and Collect Service

In the meantime, from all of us at Fabrics Galore, a HUGE THANK YOU!
