The first part of this week, was all about recovering from Exeter by unloading the van and getting the shop looking slightly more ship shape. But now we must turn our attention to prepping for the next show, which happens to be one of our biggest, The Knitting and Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace.
ATTENDING FOR 20 YEARS!
Paul can’t actually remember but we think we have been going for nearly 20 years; but this year it is going to be ever so slightly different as we are in a new location with a new stand number H6. But nothing else will have changed, we will still have 36 square metres of lovely fabrics from jerseys to wools with all sorts in between and Paul will still wear a “different” shirt.
Ally Pally is one of the biggest shows of the year with over 300 exhibitors, over four days and even has a late night opening on the Thursday. So really there is no excuse to miss out on this show. As it is one of the bigger shows and it’s in London it is also a chance for the FG gang old and new to come together; with one of the original Saturday Girls Lauren joining forces with the latest one Steph.
PREPARE FOR WINTER WITH COSY FABRICS
As it is also the time of year where the weather starts to get ever so slightly colder, we can show off all our new corduroys, sweatshirting and cosy plaids ideal for making cosy winter pyjamas. Very recently we have got some extra lovely corduroys from Italy in a great selection of muted colours ready for all our 70’s revival. As a special treat too, Paul will be loading the van with the Liberty sweatshirting, and our new Italian wools ready for jumper making going into the winter months. Check out the complete Italian wool fabric collection.
But we are also looking forward to other events in October so will naturally be bringing all the Alexander Henry’s some of which could be whipped up into Halloween appropriate outfit if making a costume doesn’t seem your thing. But this also means all the ever popular Frida Khalo fabric will also be there too, for the lucky people who got to see the recent exhibition. Go online if you want to get a glimpse of our soon to be showcased Frida Khalo fabric designs.
It is also one of the last shows of the year that means it’s the perfect time to come and buy some Christmas fabrics ready for all those festive makes. This soft furnishing weight Christmas cracker will obviously be making an appearance, along with our usual huge selection of Christmas Fat quarters.
But don’t panic there will also be non Christmas fat quarters, including the very popular batik ones and even some wider width ones. In fact that is what we should be prepping right now……..
Hopefully we will see you at Alexandra Palace in just over a week, tickets are still available from the Knitting and Stitching website.
If you can't wait that long to get your hands on a design you have fallen in love with, then you need to go online to visit our Fabrics Galore fabric shop.
