The Creative Craft Show takes place at the Westpoint Centre in Exeter from 27th – 30th September.
WHAT IS THE CREATIVE CRAFT SHOW?
The event is one of Fabrics Galore’s favourite UK craft shows with its eclectic mix of stitchers, hobbyists and crafters all providing fantastic inspiration for die-hard crafters and those taking up dressmaking or patchwork quilting for the first time. As well as over a hundred and fifty exhibitors’ stands there will be workshops and talks throughout the four days and plenty of opportunity to try your hand at a new creative hobby.
OUR TOP TIPS FOR THE CREATIVE CRAFT SHOW
There are so many exhibits, workshops and demonstrations taking place that it’s hard to pick out highlights, but we will certainly be checking out the winners of the 2018 “Sew Your Style” competition to see what can be done with a gorgeous fabric and a ton of creative dressmaking flair. Live demonstrations which shouldn’t be missed include expert Patchwork and Quilter, Pat Lumsdale and renowned bridal dressmaker Sara Radford. Visitors to the Knit and Knatter workspace are also invited to participate in knitting a four-inch square section of a giant 13ft poppy wall hanging to commemorate the centenary of the First World War and Votes for Women.
PATCHWORK AND QUILTING AT THE CREATIVE CRAFT SHOW
The “Fooling the Eye” exhibit will showcase quilts which were designed to create optical illusions from The Modern Quilt Group of the Quilters’ Guild of the British Isles. Seeing really is believing, so expect a riot of colour and creativity for a very modern take on Quilting. For a more traditional approach, do visit The Dorset, Devon and Cornwall Quilters’ Guild on Stand D15 where beginners and professionals are always welcome. HOW TO FIND THE FABRICS GALORE STAND
Fabrics Galore will be setting out our stall on Stand No A11 from Thursday 27th September right through Sunday 30th September. We will be bringing our very best patchwork and quilting fabrics as well as a brilliant range of soft furnishing fabrics including some gorgeous novelty print fabrics from llamas to ladybirds which we are loving for your children’s furnishing projects.
