Who is Orla Kiely?
Based in London, Orla Kiely is an Irish fashion designer whose strong use of pattern, colour and texture is evident throughout her collection of fabrics. In her teens, Orla Kiely wanted to be an architect, but changed her mind because she loved fashion and design and wanted to pursue this so much more. She graduated in print and textile design from the National College of Art and Design in Dublin in 1982 and went on to work in New York and London as a textiles and print designer and obtained her master’s degree at the Royal College of Art in London in 1993.

The brand has since gone from strength to strength, as her distinctive designs are instantly recognisable. Orla Kiely was even awarded an OBE in recognition of her services to business and the fashion industry in 2011 and has been described as 'The Queen of Prints' by the Guardian - which just highlights her enormous success in the industry.
